I absolutely love hiking around in the desert during the spring. Once the wildflowers start blooming, each outing is full of surprises. The flowers rarely pop up where they did in the previous year and the season is short.
I found these Claret Cup blooms hidden behind a huge rock slab that had fallen from the main cliff wall. I had a feeling something good was hiding behind that small gap. I was not disappointed.
